Sharon and Carol

"Reading your manuscript was very moving emotionally, awesome in its imagery, and overwhelming spiritually.

Your story is one of belief and non-belief, anger and love, compassion and fear. In it the duality of life is expressed in the life choices and decisions made by all who seek the lessons of the Creator.

Well done."

Dear Reader,

As the Eagle Cries, Sharon's Journey Home is a true Story. My daughter Sharon was misdiagnosed as having a bipolar disorder. It was only after a tragic accident and subsequent coma that I was told by her neurosurgeon that she had a cyst on her brain. This cyst was the cause of her sometimes bizarre behavior and not a bipolar disorder.

For 3 1/2 years when Sharon was in a coma, I began a search for answers, questioning my own spiritual beliefs. I found the answers and guidance in the teachings and traditions of Native American (Lakota) spirituality. It was through these teachings, ceremonies and traditions I was able to communicate with Sharon in a coma and find out her final wishes.

I wrote this book so that others may benefit from my experience and perhaps find solace, and hope in the face of tragedy.

Thank you for taking the time to read this book.

Love and Blessings,

Carol
